In reply to: Custom application
December 1, 2016 at 8:13 am #5023269963Alex HodschayanKeymasterGil/Jimmy, thanks for the posts. This type of custom application is becoming more popular. We intend on developing more “builders’ kits” for custom applications, but do not have finished kits available yet. That said, we do have the parts and have, and will, help get you a product that will help. Most of the custom applications I have helped with have used our SumoSprings Solo springs with spacers. Spacers come in different sizes 1/4″ to 2″. The solo is only attached on one side, so there is no limitation. If you can get the spring within a half inch, or better, pre-loaded a half inch, that is ideal. 5″ tall spring, with a 2″ spacers should be a good fit. I’d recommend chatting on the phone with one of our engineers. Try Chad, at (805) 745-5553, and dial by first name option.

Who did you purchase from on Amazon? From Amazon or a third party seller on Amazon? If there are any questions about it, please give us a call. Sorry for the delayed response because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

October 28, 2016 at 12:42 pm #5023269766Alex HodschayanKeymasterFew options. The easiest, Coil SumoSprings. They come in seven different sizes, and I am confident we could match one to your Mopar Coils. The stock coil uses Coil SumoSprings part number CSS-1145. If you want to provide measurements, we can confirm an appropriate fit for you. Go to http://www.supersprings.com/products/coil-sumosprings/#coil-sumo-measure. Another option would be to add SumoSprings Solo. These replace the OE bump stops and completely fill that void. The OE stop is about 3.5″ – 4″ tall. The Solo is 7″ tall. It will engage almost immediately with any weight (from load or sway). The Solo comes in two densities for your truck, SSR-307-40 and SSR-307-47. Lastly, we do make a heavy duty replacement coil spring, SuperCoils. I’m not sure you would want to do this since you invested in the Mopar 2″ lift. Check out the Coil SumoSprings page. I suspect that is what you are after and it will take the mush out of your springs.

October 27, 2016 at 3:36 pm #5023269737Alex HodschayanKeymasterWe always try to get the springs pre-loaded slightly. Depending on the application, within a 1/4″ is good. If you want to comment with exact measurements, I can give you a recommendation.

October 27, 2016 at 3:26 pm #5023269735Alex HodschayanKeymasterThe SumoSprings will not decrease your ride quality when not towing. The spring rate is progressive, so the unloaded initial compression is softer than when weight is applied and compression goes further with greater resistance. The difference between the two springs is 500 pounds, 250 per side. If you are concerned about carrying the weight, I would recommend the -47. This will generate a tighter handling feeling and reduce sway while unloaded and around turns, and give you additional load support when you tow. Hope this helps!
