I took an approach to incrementally install three items to reduce sway in my 2018 Jayco Melbourne RV (Mercedes 3500 Sprinter chassis). At each stage I did a test drive on the same loop for comparisons. Initially I installed an aftermarket rear sway bar that provided some improvement but not to the level I had hoped for. Next, I installed SumoSprings in the front of the vehicle. This installation was easy and added additional control. Installation took less than one hour and most of that time was spent getting tools, jack, and jack stands out and putting them away. Actual installation of the springs was less than 10 minutes per side. I was able to perform all the work from above the tire in the wheel well by turning the wheels full lock. Full lock to left for left front and full lock to right for right front. There was no need to get under the rig. It was time for another test drive and I did notice some improvement. Finally, I installed the rear SumoSprings which was very easy. Total time was less than 30 minutes. The stock bumpers can be removed easily, and the new ones go in place with minimal fuss. As expected, the handling improved again with the addition of the rear springs. I would advise readers to follow the recommendation on the manufacturer’s web site that suggests that all “four corners” of the vehicle need attention in an integrated approach to suspension performance improvements. Definitely worth the time and money.
