I have a 2016 Jayco Alante 26Y (2015 F53 16,000 – 18,000 GVWR) motor home on which I am trying to achieve a high level of road handling attributes. This is my first motor home of any size/style, so needless to say, I am not experientially equipped to make decisions on what after-market equipment might be of most assistance.
As you may know, the 2016 Jayco Alante 26Y comes factory equipped with their much vaunted “JRide” suspension (Bilstein Shock absorbers, Computer-balanced driveshaft, jounce bumpers & Front and rear sway bars). Notwithstanding my lack of experience with owning/driving any type/size of motor home, this factory suspension left me totally underwhelmed! The 1,700 mile trip from Michigan back to New Mexico was a very hair-raising experience-so much so that I put the unit in storage for the winter, and am just now trying to resolve the poor handling characteristics.
So far, I have had the front-end aligned and a “SteerSafe” steering control unit added to the coach. While the handling is much improved, it is still a physical drain to drive on the highway. After having read many articles on the Sumo Springs, I am curious if these additions (in addition to “Jounce Bumpers” installed at the factory) would improve the road-handling quality?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Respectfully,
Tom Goodson

Thank you very much for sharing your motorome experience with us.
To answer your question about road-handling quality, yes; one of the primary features of the SumoSprings is to improve the overall handle and cpntrol of the ride.
SumoSprings are manufactured from a proprietary closed micro-cellular urethane. A material that contains high quality dampening properties. This means road shock, vibration, or other tension caused by road or driving conditions is drastically reduced.
Thanks to these dampening properties, the SumoSprings themselves are able to dissipate the energy that normally travels to the frame of your vehicle, which you are currently noticing.
With these, not only would you be enhancing the quality of the ride of your motorhome, you’d be enhancing the safety of your motorhome.
We manufacture kits for both the front, and rear end for your application. I’d be happy to assist you with the proper part numbers, or with any further questions you may have!
